Slaying Giants – 1 Samuel 17

This week’s sermon explored the famous story of David and Goliath, reminding us that with God, victory is possible—even when the odds are against us. David’s story is part of the grand biblical narrative leading to Jesus, our eternal King, who has conquered sin, death, and the enemy on our behalf.

We saw how fear can immobilize us, just as Goliath intimidated Israel for 40 days. But faith—trusting in God’s power over our own strength—leads to breakthrough. David rejected Saul’s armor, choosing instead the tools God had already given him, showing us that God equips us with exactly what we need to overcome our battles.

Like David, we face giants—fear, pride, doubt, and control. But the battle belongs to the Lord. When we focus on God instead of our struggles, we step into the victory He has already won.

What step of faith will you take this week to trust God in your battle?
